Save the Date! Bear Branch Elementary’s Kids Heart Challenge program begins on 9/8/2026.
We're excited to bring this fun service-learning program to our students. Throughout the program, students will learn heart-healthy habits, practice kindness, and discover how they can make a difference for others. We invite your family to join the fun too! Together, you'll have the opportunity to learn the lifesaving skill of Hands-Only CPR and how to recognize the warning signs of a stroke, helping create a community of lifesavers. Want a sneak peek and an easy way to stay connected throughout the program? Sign up today: http://www2.heart.org/site/TR?fr_id=13393&pg=company&company_id=567098 We can't wait to get started! |

Did you know that you students make over 200 decisions every day, just at school!? Our students are learning to navigate their own growing world of choices and to help build strong, confident thinkers, I will be leading classroom guidance lessons focused on decision-making this 9 weeks.
In September and October, I will also meet with each 3rd and 4th grade student individually (1:1) to check in, connect, and support their personal growth and goal-setting. Learn more in the 1st Quarter Counselor Newsletter! |

IMPORTANT!
Households must reapply annually in order to be eligible for free or reduced priced meals. Students who receive free/reduced price meals during the current school year qualify for those benefits the FIRST 30 DAYS of the following year in August. However, once a new application is processed, the eligibility determined by the new application will supersede the previous year's eligibility, even if that is within those first 30 days. Any student who does not have a new application processed by the 30th school day will automatically be changed to full pay.
On-Line Application Information Ways to Apply: ONLINE: Applications are available online using SchoolCafe. Already have a SchoolCafe account?: Sign in, then navigate to “Eligibility Benefits” (left hand side menu), then click “Apply”. SchoolCafe will walk you through the steps.
No SchoolCafe account?: Choose the Create an Account option at the bottom to sign up for a new parent account. Once you are registered, your initial screen will prompt you to add students to your SchoolCafe account. This process helps us identify those students within your household so that we can quickly and accurately identify them for applying. Once your children are added to your account, navigate to “Eligibility Benefits” and click ”Apply”. If you have children in more than one school, please complete and submit only ONE application.
