Dear Timbers Families,

September is off to a wonderful start here at Timbers! The energy on campus is contagious as students and teachers settle into routines and dive into meaningful learning experiences. It has been a joy to see our Timberwolves building friendships, growing in confidence, and showing their excitement for learning each day.

One important area I want to continue to highlight is attendance. Being present and on time each day sets the tone for student success. While we know illness is circulating right now, please remember that if your child has a fever, they must remain home until they have been fever-free for a full 24 hours without medication. This helps keep our community healthy and learning strong. Thank you for helping us prioritize both student health and consistent attendance.

I also want to remind families about the releases for counseling and nursing services. These forms ensure that our students have quick access to support when they need it most. Please take a moment to review and complete them if you have not already:

  • Counseling Consent Form

  • Health Services Consent Form

As always, thank you for your ongoing partnership. Together, we are creating a school community where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to do their best.

Proud to be part of the Wolfpack,
Frank Gerga

Humble ISD has provided this notice in accordance with Texas Senate Bill 12 from the 89th Texas Legislature. This new law is designed to give parents and guardians a greater role in decisions regarding their child’s health and well-being at school. SB 12 requires school districts to notify parents/guardians and obtain written consent before certain services can be provided by our School Counselor and Nurse.

In order to have minimal disruptions to routine school activities, we ask that all families complete BOTH consent forms at their earliest convenience.

If you have any questions regarding either of these forms, please feel free to reach out to TE Counselor, Cindy Jones, or TE Nurse, Laura Tran, BSN, RN.

SB 12 and Personalized Counseling

On August 29 parents received an email from Humble ISD Connect with information on Senate Bill 12 which went into law on September 1, 2025.

Please complete the Counseling Consent Form to Opt-In or Opt-Out of school counseling services by Monday, September 15, 2025.

State law requires school counselors to provide the following services as part of a Comprehensive School Counseling Program:

  • A guidance curriculum to help students develop their full educational potential, including the student's interests and career objectives.

  • A responsive services component to intervene on behalf of any student whose immediate personal concerns or problems put the student's continued educational, career, personal, or social development at risk.

  • An individual planning system to guide a student as the student plans, monitors, and manages the student's own educational, career, personal, and social development.

  • System support to support the efforts of teachers, staff, parents, and other members of the community in promoting the educational, career, personal, and social development of students.

Personalized Counseling is a part of our comprehensive counseling program. By signing the consent form you will allow us to continue providing personalized counseling to our students. Please refer to the email from August 29, 2025 for more detailed information and reach out to Mrs. Jones at cindy.jones@humbleisd.net if you have any questions or concerns.

Policy Reminders

Personal Communication Devices Prohibited

The Humble ISD School Board has approved policies following a state-wide, required ban of personal communication devices for students beginning in the 2025-2026 school year.

House Bill 1481, passed by the Texas Legislature, prohibits students from using personal communication devices while on school property during the school day. The “school day” is defined as when a student enters the school building and ends when the dismissal bell rings. The ban includes classrooms, locker rooms, cafeterias, hallways, passing periods and restrooms. Learn mere here.

Lunch Visitors

We’re excited to welcome lunch visitors to campus! As part of the Wolfpack, your support helps us maintain a safe and positive environment for all students. To help things run smoothly, we ask that you please follow a few guidelines during your visit:

  • Be sure to sign in and out at the front office before heading to the cafeteria.

  • Food brought to school should be for your student only. We ask that no food be shared with other students.

  • Please plan to sit with your student on the stage. For safety reasons, other students will not be able to join.

  • While we love celebrating, birthday parties and balloons aren’t allowed in the cafeteria. You’re welcome to bring store-bought cupcakes, which will be passed out at the teacher’s convenience.

  • Photos should be limited to just you and your student, in order to respect others’ privacy.

  • Food delivery services (like DoorDash or Uber Eats) are not allowed during the school day.

  • There will be no lunch visitors on STAAR or mock testing days. We’ll send out reminders ahead of time.

  • To ensure space for everyone, please limit lunch visitors to 3 per student.

Inform the school within 48 hours to mark the absence as excused using one of these options:

  • Fill out the online absence form or by clicking the link above

  • Email the campus attendance office at Paula.Francis@humbleisd.net

  • Send in a paper note, or take a photo with your phone and send it to the attendance office

  • Call the school’s attendance office at 281-641-2003

For medical or dental appointments:

  • Get a note at the appointment and upload it into the online absence form

  • Turn it in to the attendance office within 48 hours.

Did You Know?
Dated health care appointment notes allow the school to mark your child present if they attended any part of the school day, such as before or after their appointment.

When TE students stay in school until 9:35 a.m., it ensures the school receives full funding for the day. Your support in ensuring your child’s attendance not only helps them academically, but also boosts the school’s success.

Thank you for partnering with us to provide the best educational experience for our students. For more information, please visit Important Attendance Information for Parents or view the Attendance Reminders for Elementary & Middle School flyer.
