Dear Timbers Families,
It’s hard to believe, but we are already heading into October! We have just two short weeks until our October break, and our Timberwolves are working hard to finish this stretch strong.
As a campus, we continue to focus on Capturing Kids’ Hearts—a program that helps build strong connections between students and staff and fosters a safe, positive learning environment. Thank you for reinforcing these values at home as well; together, we are helping our students grow not only academically but socially and emotionally.
I also want to thank you for your commitment to attendance. Over the past seven days, we’ve seen our attendance trend back up, and it’s clear that students are starting to feel healthy again. Being at school consistently is one of the biggest factors in a child’s success, and we appreciate your partnership in making sure students are here and ready to learn each day.
Thank you, as always, for your support and partnership in making Timbers such a special place for our students.
Your Proud Pack Leader,
Frank Gerga

Timbers Elementary is proud to be part of Humble ISD's personalized counseling mission. Personalized counseling means that every elementary students will have the opportunity to meet 1:1 with our counselor Mrs. Jones. Information from these meetings is then used to ensure we are best supporting all students!
On August 29 parents received an email from Humble ISD Connect with information on Senate Bill 12 which went into law on September 1, 2025.
Personalized Counseling is a part of our comprehensive counseling program. By signing the consent form you will allow us to continue providing personalized counseling to our students. Please refer to the email from August 29, 2025 for more detailed information and reach out to Mrs. Jones at cindy.jones@humbleisd.net if you have any questions or concerns.

State law requires school counselors to provide the following services as part of a Comprehensive School Counseling Program:
A guidance curriculum to help students develop their full educational potential, including the student's interests and career objectives.
A responsive services component to intervene on behalf of any student whose immediate personal concerns or problems put the student's continued educational, career, personal, or social development at risk.
An individual planning system to guide a student as the student plans, monitors, and manages the student's own educational, career, personal, and social development.
System support to support the efforts of teachers, staff, parents, and other members of the community in promoting the educational, career, personal, and social development of students.
Texas Senate Bill 12 now requires schools to get written parent/guardian consent before certain services can be provided by our School Counselor or Nurse. To keep school routines running smoothly, please complete both consent forms as soon as possible. Questions? Contact TE Counselor, Cindy Jones, or TE Nurse, Laura Tran, BSN, RN.
When heavy rain or lightning occurs at dismissal, Rainy Day Dismissal procedures will go into effect. Families will be notified by email and text no later than 2:45 PM on the day it is called.
Procedures:
Car Riders: Car rider dismissal will run as usual.
Walkers/Bikers: Students will not be released on their own during unsafe weather.
Parents who wish to pick up walkers/bikers may do so at the Front Walker Area (Door 2). Please have your dismissal number ready.
Any remaining walkers/bikers will be held inside and released once car rider dismissal is complete and conditions are safe.
Reminder: Rainy Day Dismissal only changes procedures for walkers and bikers. Car rider dismissal stays the same.
Register in Rooms
Elementary guardians can follow the simple steps found at Rooms support.
Starting in the 2025–2026 school year, Humble ISD will follow a new state law (House Bill 1481) that bans students from using personal communication devices during the school day.
Once students enter the school building in the morning until the dismissal bell rings, personal devices may not be used whether in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, or restrooms. Learn more here.
Annual Update is required. Please complete as soon as possible at humbleisd.net/annualupdate
Students look for repetition, predictability, or cycles. They examine the topic for recurrent features and identify relationships based on their findings.
GT, or Gifted and Talented, is a program for students who learn quickly, think creatively, and need extra challenges to help their brains grow. While we offer specialized GT services, all students at Timbers engage in enrichment opportunities that spark curiosity and stretch their thinking through the Depth and Complexity framework and focus on an icon of the week.
We’re excited to welcome lunch visitors to campus! As part of the Wolfpack, your support helps us maintain a safe and positive environment for all students. To help things run smoothly, we ask that you please follow a few guidelines during your visit:
Be sure to sign in and out at the front office before heading to the cafeteria.
Food brought to school should be for your student only. We ask that no food be shared with other students.
Please plan to sit with your student on the stage. For safety reasons, other students will not be able to join.
While we love celebrating, birthday parties and balloons aren’t allowed in the cafeteria. You’re welcome to bring store-bought cupcakes, which will be passed out at the teacher’s convenience.
Photos should be limited to just you and your student, in order to respect others’ privacy.
Food delivery services (like DoorDash or Uber Eats) are not allowed during the school day.
There will be no lunch visitors on STAAR or mock testing days. We’ll send out reminders ahead of time.
To ensure space for everyone, please limit lunch visitors to 3 per student.

Did You Know?
Dated health care appointment notes allow the school to mark your child present if they attended any part of the school day, such as before or after their appointment.
When TE students stay in school until 9:35 a.m., it ensures the school receives full funding for the day. Your support in ensuring your child’s attendance not only helps them academically, but also boosts the school’s success.
Thank you for partnering with us to provide the best educational experience for our students. For more information, please visit Important Attendance Information for Parents or view the Attendance Reminders for Elementary & Middle School flyer.
