Families,
We want to take a moment to remind everyone of the importance of daily attendance — including arriving on time and remaining for the entire school day whenever possible. Every minute of instruction counts, and consistent attendance helps your child stay connected and successful in learning. Believe it or not, there are only 20 school days until Thanksgiving Break, and we want to make the most of each one!
Thank you for your continued support in making attendance a priority. We’re also excited to share that all of our Newline interactive touch screens have been installed and are now up and running in every classroom. These tools are already helping teachers create more engaging and interactive lessons for our students.
We look forward to seeing everyone this evening at the Fall Festival for a fun night of community and celebration!
Your Proud Pack Leader, Frank Gerga

I had such a wonderful time visiting every classroom for our Optimistic Thinking guidance lessons! This quarter, I’ll be focusing on the skill of Self-Management with all students.
Pre-K–1st Grade: We’ll have a fun (and delicious!) marshmallow activity that teaches patience and self-control.
2nd–3rd Grade: Students will participate in a hands-on balloon activity to practice managing emotions.
4th–5th Grade: We’ll tie in a mini science experiment to explore how our reactions can be managed in positive ways.

3rd Grade Personalized Counseling Meetings
This quarter, I’ll begin meeting one-on-one with 3rd graders for their Personalized Counseling Meetings—a district-wide initiative designed to support each student’s growth and success. During these meetings, students will identify their strengths, goals, and future aspirations. My goal is to help them feel supported, confident, and on track to be College, Career, and Military Ready (CCMR).
✨ Don’t forget to check out the Timbers Elementary Counselor Newsletter for the 2nd Quarter for more updates and resources! |

We’re starting something new and exciting at our school! Each Thursday, during our Career Focus Days, we’ll be sharing short videos from parents about their jobs. The goal is to help our students learn about all kinds of careers — ANY job is welcome!
If you’d like to participate, please record a short video (about 2–3 minutes long) answering the questions below. Be sure your video is no longer than 3 minutes.

Rainy Day Dismissal Procedures
|
When heavy rain or lightning occurs at dismissal, Rainy Day Dismissal procedures will go into effect. Families will be notified by email and text no later than 2:45 PM on the day it is called. |
|
Procedures:
Car Riders: Car rider dismissal will run as usual.
Walkers/Bikers: Students will not be released on their own during unsafe weather.
Parents who wish to pick up walkers/bikers may do so at the Front Walker Area (Door 2). Please have your dismissal number ready.
Any remaining walkers/bikers will be held inside and released once car rider dismissal is complete and conditions are safe.
|
Reminder: Rainy Day Dismissal only changes procedures for walkers and bikers. Car rider dismissal stays the same. |

We’re excited to welcome lunch visitors to campus! As part of the Wolfpack, your support helps us maintain a safe and positive environment for all students. To help things run smoothly, we ask that you please follow a few guidelines during your visit:
Be sure to sign in and out at the front office before heading to the cafeteria.
Food brought to school should be for your student only. We ask that no food be shared with other students.
Please plan to sit with your student on the stage. For safety reasons, other students will not be able to join.
While we love celebrating, birthday parties and balloons aren’t allowed in the cafeteria. You’re welcome to bring store-bought cupcakes, which will be passed out at the teacher’s convenience.
Photos should be limited to just you and your student, in order to respect others’ privacy.
Food delivery services (like DoorDash or Uber Eats) are not allowed during the school day.
There will be no lunch visitors on STAAR or mock testing days. We’ll send out reminders ahead of time.
To ensure space for everyone, please limit lunch visitors to 3 per student.
Lunch Times PK: 10:30–11:00 K: 10:40–11:10 1st: 11:00–11:30 (1st Grade lunch is moved to 11:10–11:40 every other Friday for Extended Specials) 2nd: 11:40–12:10 3rd: 12:10–12:40 4th: 12:40–1:10 5th: 1:05–1:35

Regular attendance is critical to learning in the classroom. When your child is absent from school, please note the following important reminders:
Inform the school within 48 hours to mark the absence as excused using one of these options:
Fill out the online absence form or by clicking the link above
Email the campus attendance office at Paula.Francis@humbleisd.net
Send in a paper note, or take a photo with your phone and send it to the attendance office
Call the school’s attendance office at 281-641-2003
For medical or dental appointments:
Did You Know? Dated health care appointment notes allow the school to mark your child present if they attended any part of the school day, such as before or after their appointment.
When TE students stay in school until 9:35 a.m., it ensures the school receives full funding for the day. Your support in ensuring your child’s attendance not only helps them academically, but also boosts the school’s success.
Thank you for partnering with us to provide the best educational experience for our students. For more information, please visit Important Attendance Information for Parents or view the Attendance Reminders for Elementary & Middle School flyer.

State Law SB12:
Parent Consent Required
|
Texas Senate Bill 12 now requires schools to get written parent/guardian consent before certain services can be provided by our School Counselor or Nurse. To keep school routines running smoothly, please complete both consent forms as soon as possible. Questions? Contact TE Counselor, Cindy Jones, or TE Nurse, Laura Tran, BSN, RN.

Register in Rooms
Elementary guardians can follow the simple steps found at Rooms support. |
|
Starting in the 2025–2026 school year, Humble ISD will follow a new state law (House Bill 1481) that bans students from using personal communication devices during the school day.
Once students enter the school building in the morning until the dismissal bell rings, personal devices may not be used whether in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, or restrooms. Learn more here.
