SCHOOL ATTENDANCE   

  • Regular attendance is critical to your child’s success at school!
  • Official attendance time is 9:03 AM. 
  • If your child is ever absent, there are several ways to report the absence. Call our absence line at 281-641-2619, email the Attendance Specialist april.ockerman@humbleisd.net, or fill out the Online Absence Excuse Form.  It is important that we have documentation of the reason for the absence. 
  • If your child is absent and you have a doctor’s note, please submit the note to April Ockerman. 
  • Any time your student is absent and we do not receive notification, the absence will be marked as unexcused. After three unexcused absences, the district truancy office will send a letter.         
 

SFE SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR

  • It is Book Fair time at SFE!  The Book Fair is November 3-7. The links below will help you sign up to volunteer, set up student eWallets, and look at family shopping events! Thank you for your support!
  • As a reminder, here is our lunch visitor policy. Anyone wishing to attend lunch/book fair with a student, must be listed on the student’s HAC account or an email is to be sent in giving permission for the person to attend.

FUTURE MUSTANG WEEK

  • Kingwood High School is excited to celebrate past, present, and FUTURE Mustangs.
  • Activities include a KHS club presentation and KHS student leaders and athletes greeting Future Mustang students during arrival and visiting during lunch.  
  • All Future Mustangs are invited for fun, games, and a chance to be on the field with KHS athletes at the KHS vs HHS Football Game at Turner Stadium on November 7 at 7:00 PM.
 
 

VETERANS DAY PROGRAM: RSVP NEEDED

  • We are excited to welcome and honor Veterans at our campus celebration on Tuesday, November 11.
  •  We will have two similar programs for Veterans, students and their families. Families who have Veteran(s) attending with students in different grade levels are welcome to attend one or both programs. Veterans will have their picture taken with their student(s) and be escorted to the program by their SFE student(s).
    • Students in Grades 3rd, 4th, and 5th
      • Veterans gather for pictures at 8:10 AM  in the Library
      • Program 8:30 AM Cafeteria
    • Students in Grades K, 1st, and 2nd
      • Veterans gather for pictures at 9:10 AM  in the Library
      • Program 9:30 AM Cafeteria
  • Please complete the RSVP form below by Sunday November 9 if you will be attending the program(s) so we can plan for your attendance and expedite your campus registration the day of the program.
  • Remember, badges can only be pre-printed for adults who have had their ID scanned in our Raptor system this school year. If you have not had your ID scanned this school year, you are welcome to stop by the front office before November 10th to have it scanned in order to make the check in process quicker for you for this event.
  • Please have your driver's license ready to present when you enter the front doors at SFE where you can pick up your RSVP pre-printed badge.

PTA REFLECTIONS ART CONTEST

  • The annual PTA Reflections Art Contest is officially underway! This nationwide program gives students a chance to express their creativity through visual art, literature, photography, music, dance, or film; all centered around this year’s theme, “I Belong.”
  • Students are encouraged to reflect on what it means to feel accepted, included, and valued. Whether that’s at home, at school, or in their community, and show that feeling through their art. Entries are due by Thursday, November 20. Important: Only students whose parents are current PTA members may submit entries.

WORLD KINDNESS DAY

  • On Friday, November 14, we will be celebrating World Kindness Day as a school. World Kindness Day is an opportunity to promote kindness and respect.  
  • We are partnering with Society of St. Stephen for a Thanksgiving food drive.  Each grade level will send out information on which food item to donate.  
  • Students are invited to dress up in neon so that we can all "Brighten Someone's Day!"

STAFF SHARK SHOUT OUTS

  • We know that our SFE staff is exceptional and we want to hear about it! This is your opportunity to share a Shark Shout Out to recognize when one of our staff members made a meaningful impact on your day or your child's day! 
    • Please complete the Staff Shark Shout Out Form.

  • Join us for Spirit Night on 11/4 at Dirty Dough. 
  • Don’t forget to Join PTA! The $10 membership fee helps fund fun and enriching activities for our students!
  • Stay connected to all things PTA at the SFE PTA Website, our Facebook page, and our new Instagram page.
  • Pay Class Party Fees here. This is a fee paid to SFE PTA for student parties. We ask that all families contribute whether they choose to join SFE PTA or not. The activity fee is a different fee requested by the school and is paid to the school via RevTrak. If you have questions about the activity fee, please contact the school. 
  • Want to volunteer at the school? There are so many opportunities! Fill out this volunteer form to learn more.
 
  • Kingwood High School presents Sound of Music October 23 - 25 at 7:00 PM and October 30, November 1, and November 3 at 7:00 PM. October 25 and November 1 at 2:00 PM. See flyer below on details for ordering tickets. 
  • Kingwood High School and Kingwood Park basketball programs host a youth basketball league each year. The program begins on November 3rd. See flyer below for more details or on their website kingwoodbasketball.com/cbl.
