SCHOOL ATTENDANCE
We are asking for all families’ support in helping us maintain and improve our attendance rate. Recently, we have noticed a gradual decline in attendance. We believe that SFE is a strong and vibrant campus that continues to excel; however, our overall attendance rate is not reflective of this.
Daily attendance does provide quite a bit of funding for our school district, which directly benefits SFE. More importantly, your child's daily presence plays a vital role in their learning journey and success, both now and in the future.
Please make it a priority in your family to have your child at school every day unless he/she has a fever or has had a fever within the past 24 hours. If you have any questions or need assistance in ensuring consistent attendance, please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher, April Ockerman, Lisa Lackey, Michael Bushnell, or Simona McKinney.
Please note that a student will be considered present if they arrive by our official attendance time of 9:03 AM. If a student is not in attendance by this time, they will be marked absent. (Exceptions made if your child was present before 9:03, left before this attendance time and then returned with a Dr.’s note.)
We truly appreciate your partnership in helping us improve our attendance and look forward to welcoming all students back on Tuesday, October 21, to start the second nine-week period. Thank you very much for your attention and support!
RED RIBBON WEEK OCTOBER 27-30
We are looking forward to our Red Ribbon Week! This year’s national theme is: "Life is a Puzzle, Solve It Drug Free." During this week students will engage in activities that promote a drug free and healthy lifestyle.
A fun way for our students to celebrate living a drug free life is through DRESS UP DAYS at SFE. Participation in these days is optional.
As part of the dress up days, we will have our annual Costume Parade on Thursday, October 30, at 8:15 AM.
Kindergarten - 2nd grade students will walk in the parade. Parents are invited to view the outside portion of the parade.
Kindergarten - 3rd grade students are invited to wear costumes on this day. 4th & 5th grade students are invited to wear wacky wardrobe attire. Participation in dressing in costume or wacky wardrobe is optional.
As you are planning on an appropriate costume or wacky wardrobe items for your child to wear, please keep the following safety guidelines in mind:
Costumes need to be appropriate for school in content.
No masks should be worn.
Full face makeup should not be applied.
Props are discouraged. No weapon related or dangerous props will be allowed.
Students should be able to stay in their costumes or wacky wardrobe for the day or be able to quickly and easily remove them without needing to fully change their clothing and without assistance.
