*Please Note:  No visitors will be allowed on campus, including lunch for all grade levels and volunteers, on STAAR Testing days.

SCHOOL ATTENDANCE   

  • Goal 96% – Year to date:  95.8%
  • Let's make February through May our highest attendance months yet. 
  • Your child’s learning depends on consistent school attendance!
  • Please make it a priority to have your child on time to school (by 7:55 AM) and present every day (official attendance time 9:03 AM).  
 
 
  • We invite you to attend an Open House at SFE on Thursday, February 26, from 6:00 - 7:00 PM. 
  • This will be an informal come and go time for parents to attend with their children so they can show you all the wonderful work and learning that happens at SFE. Please make sure children are attended throughout the evening.
  • Shark Showcase: Make sure to stop in the cafeteria during Open House to view our SFE student projects, demonstrations and presentations. These students have worked hard to prepare for showcasing their learning at this event!
  • Lost and Found: While at Open House, please take a look at the lost and found for any items you may be missing. All leftover items will be donated over Spring Break.

  • It is Book Fair time at SFE!  The Book Fair will run March 2-6. The links below will help you sign up to volunteer, set up student eWallets, and look at family shopping events! Thank you for your support!

STAFF SHARK SHOUT OUTS

  • We know that our SFE staff is exceptional and we want to hear about it! This is your opportunity to share a Shark Shout Out to recognize when one of our staff members made a meaningful impact on your day or your child's day!

SFE PTA
  • Join us for a spirit night at Dirty Dough on 2/24.
  • Join us for a spirit night at Chipotle on 3/3. 
  • Sharkfest information packets went home this week and ticket sales are live! Purchase carnival tickets, raffle tickets, and t-shirts here.
  • Hey Sharks! Invite a special person (grandparent, parent, etc.) to come enjoy a special breakfast with you. The PTA is sponsoring our annual Special Person Breakfast on March 13th from 7:30-8:30am. Spots are limited! RSVP today!
  • Shark families, we are once again looking for help serving cotton candy and popcorn at lunch. If you would like to help, sign up here.
  • Our SFE yearbook design is in full swing and it's the perfect time to get your yearbook ordered.  You can head to Treering to order your yearbooks.  We also need your help with sharing any pictures you have taken throughout the year. You can share those through the yearbook app/website HERE or drop them into our Google Drive folders.  Stay tuned for more information about our yearbook cover art contest!
  • 5th Grade Recognition Ads are available to purchase now!  Please follow these instructions.
  • Don’t forget to Join PTA! The $10 membership fee helps fund fun and enriching activities for our students!
  • Stay connected to all things PTA at the SFE PTA Website, our Facebook page, and our new Instagram page.
  • Pay Class Party Fees here. This is a fee paid to SFE PTA for student parties. We ask that all families contribute whether they choose to join SFE PTA or not. The activity fee is a different fee requested by the school and is paid to the school via RevTrak. If you have questions about the activity fee, please contact the school.

KHS BOYS SOCCER: FUTURE MUSTANG NIGHT

  • The KHS Boys Soccer program would like to invite all of our Future Mustangs to our Varsity game on February 27, 2026. The game starts at 7:30 PM with some fun giveaways and activities at half time. We hope to see you there!

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS PUBLIC SHOWCASE

  • The community is invited to review and provide feedback on instructional materials that Humble ISD is considering for adoption as part of the IMRA Cycle 2025. The materials include Secondary Mathematics (Grades 6-8), Algebra I, Algebra II, Algebraic Reasoning, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus, (B) Elementary English/Spanish Language Arts and Reading (Grades K-5) and (C) a new Secondary Social Studies “African American Studies” course. Once adopted, these materials will be implemented in classrooms for the 2026–2027 school year.
  • There are several opportunities to view materials in-person from January 5 through February 27, 2026. 
  • In addition to in-person access, digital samples of the instructional materials are available for review online at bit.ly/2526ima.
