Humble ISD 23rd Annual Fine Arts Festival

Humble ISD invites the community to celebrate student creativity at the 23rd Annual Fine Arts Festival on Saturday, May 2, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lone Star College–Kingwood, located at 20000 Kingwood Drive. Presented by the Humble ISD Fine Arts Department, this free, family-friendly event showcases the artistic talents of students from across the district.
Enjoy free family fun, including an artisan's market, creation stations, student art exhibits, elementary music performances and food concessions.

The Artisan Market will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the Fine Arts Festival. Local artisans and Humble ISD students will be offering unique art and hand crafted items for sale. Need Service Hours? Volunteer for a 2-hour shift at the Fine Arts Festival.
Volunteers play a vital role in making the Fine Arts Festival a success. Volunteers help set-up, take-down, and run art booths along with other various festival needs. Shifts are available for Saturday, but spots are limited!

Kingwood Park High School Silver Stars present SPECTRUM, at 7 p.m. on May 1 & 2, at the KPHS Performing Arts Center, 4015 Woodland Hills Drive. Join them for an unforgettable evening filled with energy, creativity, and heart-stopping performances. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online. |

SCHS Starlettes Headlines

Summer Creek High School Starlettes present Headlines, at 6:45 p.m. on May 1 and 5:45 p.m. on May 2, at the SCHS Performing Arts Center, 14000 Weckford Blvd. Join them for an unforgettable night. Tickets are $12 online or $15 at the door. |

Join the AHS MCJROTC at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, at Atascocita High School for the Eagle Dash Obstacle Course Mud Run. Come enjoy the family-friendly race and vendor booths. Registration prices range from $15 - $25 and include an event T-shirt.
Check-in begins at 7 a.m. and the events are 8 a.m. to Noon. Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female in each heat. Vendor market will include food trucks, homemade crafts, 3D printed novelties, Italian ice, bags and more!

Humble ISD concluded Volunteer Appreciation Week by honoring the incredible impact of its volunteers at its first luncheon in six years. With a remarkable 96,624 hours served - valued at over $3.3 million - volunteers continue to play a vital role in supporting students, teachers, and campuses across the district. The event recognized outstanding individuals, including a record-breaking volunteer, campus leaders in service hours, and community partner Brightspeed for its ongoing support.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Superintendent’s Community Engagement Advisory Committee (CEAC) Spring 2026 Listening Session, held on March 26 at Woodcreek Middle School. |

A total of 70 people — including parents, community members, and staff— gave 134 pieces of feedback across more than 10 topic areas. Of those, 15 individuals spoke in person during the meeting and 55 submitted comments online. Each individual comment usually spanned more than one topic and provided several pieces of feedback.
District administrators are currently reviewing the feedback and preparing responses to questions and comments. A summary report will be published in the District’s News and Announcements email no later than Friday, May 15, 2026. The summary report will also be posted to the CEAC website.

Instructional Materials Public Showcase Technology Applications (Grades K-5)
|
Humble ISD invites community members to review and provide feedback on instructional materials under consideration for adoption as part of the IMRA Cycle 2025 review for full-subject Tier I resources. The materials being considered include Elementary Technology Applications (Grades K-5). Once adopted, these materials will be implemented in classrooms for the 2026–2027 school year.
The public is encouraged to review the materials and share feedback during the public showcases at two district locations. |

The materials can be viewed at the district's Instructional Support Center, located at 4810 Magnolia Cove Drive, Kingwood TX 77345. Materials will be available for review April 27 – May 8, 2026, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. An evening review opportunity will also be offered at the same location on May 6 (Wednesday). This evening session will take place from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

The materials can also be viewed at the district’s Early Childhood Center, located at 8105 E. North Belt Drive, Humble, TX 77396. Materials will be available for review April 27 – May 8, 2026, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Lakeland Elementary 'Futuristic' Playground Open House, May 13
|
Humble ISD invites families and the community to celebrate the grand opening of Lakeland Elementary’s new “Futuristic”- themed playground. A dedication ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, at the school, located at 1101 Rustic Timbers Dr., Humble TX 77338.
The event will feature a student performance by the Wildcat Steppers followed by remarks from Principal Lucy Anderson, and student reflections on what the playground means to them.

KHS Robotics Showcase, May 16

The Kingwood High School Robotics Team invites you to the annual Robotics Showcase from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, in the Commons of KHS, 2701 Kingwood Drive.
This community event is free, open to all ages, and aims to spark interest in STEM, support fundraising for the robotics team, and share who they are with the community in a fun and engaging way.
Come enjoy student-built robots, participate in STEM-related activities and a variety of hands-on, paid activities including face painting, slime-making, DIY crafts, LED lantern building, bracelet making, and exploring 3D-printed creations. This year’s showcase will also include special features in honor of John K., such as a fire truck display, an informative safety talk, a live robot demonstration, and the chance for guests to drive a robot themselves!
