BBE Happenings
Hello, we're glad you're here! Everybody counts at BBE!
Start with Hello Week kicks off Attendance Awareness and Everybody Counts, emphasizing the importance of showing up every day to support each other and student success. This year, we’re proud to also incorporate the BBE PTA’s Everybody Counts program with a focus on creating a safe, caring school environment. Through fun dress-up days and school-wide activities, we encourage students to build good attendance habits while fostering kindness, inclusion, and safety. Together, we’re helping every child feel valued and ready to learn.
Hello, BBE Parents.
We did it! Our Kids Heart Challenge event was a huge success, and it’s all thanks to our incredible students, families, and staff. Together, we made healthy choices, learned lifesaving skills, and supported kids with special hearts through donations to charity.
Click the link above for our school’s KHC webpage to see the final results, student and class rankings, and how your student helped make this year’s Kids Heart Challenge such a success!
This year, our school’s community service project with the American Heart Association empowered students to:
Learn about heart health and practice kindness – 342 students joined our mission, earning $500 in PE equipment for your school!
Take part in Finn’s Mission, including Hands-Only CPR – 37 families completed Finn’s Mission, earning you 2 entries into the drawing for a $10,000 gym equipment makeover!
Give back through charitable donations that help families in need – you raised more in lifesaving funds than ever before, earning an additional $2,100 in PE equipment for your school!
We are so proud of every student who participated, you truly made a difference in our community.
On behalf of the American Heart Association, thank you for helping us build a Nation of Lifesavers. We couldn’t do this without you! Your THANK YOU gifts will be ordered and takes about 4-6 weeks to come in once submitted!
Counselor's Corner
Optimistic Thinking Guidance Lessons have begun! In the classes I’ve visited so far, we’ve had a blast making paper airplanes and applying a growth mindset — sometimes you have to try, tweak, and try again to fly!
4th Grade Personalized Counseling Meetings
In 4th grade, I will begin meeting individually with students for their personalized counseling meetings—a district-wide initiative designed to support each student. These meetings help students identify their strengths, goals, and future aspirations. My goal is to help students reach their goals, feel supported and on track to be College, Career, and Military Ready (CCMR).
2nd/3rd Grade ASL Club
The Kingwood High School American Sign Language honor society will be providing an after school sign language club on Wednesdays from 3:30-4:00. We will meet once a week for 7 weeks beginning on October 22nd and conclude on December 10th. There is a limit to the number of students who will be able to participate. Completing this application allows you to share your interest in participation, but does not guarantee you a spot. Once all applications are reviewed by our leadership team, students and parents will be notified of the final decision. Applications are DUE by Tuesday, October 7th. Mrs. Newman is the BBE campus sponsor for the BBE/KHS ASL Club. Please contact her at fnewman@humbleisd.net if you have any questions.
