Principal's Message

I'm a new paragraph block.

Gator Families/Guardians,

I cannot believe we are entering our final month of school! This year has been filled with lessons and growth. As we enter the final month of school, we’re excited to celebrate our students and finish the year strong!

Upcoming field trips will provide valuable memories for those students attending. Please watch for details in the weeks ahead. We will also honor student achievements at our 6th and 7th Grade Awards Ceremonies (invitations to come), and celebrate our 8th graders at their Promotion Ceremony at Summer Creek High School.

We ask for your support in reinforcing the importance of daily attendance, following the dress code, and adhering to campus expectations. Every day counts as we wrap up the school year.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support, and thank you for sharing your students with us.

Best regards,
Mrs. Burks
Principal, Autumn Ridge Middle School

SB 12 and Parental Consent

As part of our commitment to transparency and compliance with state law, we are providing this notice in accordance with Texas Senate Bill 12 (Texas Education Code §26.009T), passed by the 89th Texas legislature. This new law is designed to give parents and guardians a greater role in decisions regarding their child's health and well-being at school. SB 12 requires school districts to notify parents/guardians and obtain written consent before certain mental or behavioral health services are provided, such as suicidality or self-harm screeners, rating scales, or other assessments administered by school counselors, psychological service providers, or other qualified staff.

Following the law, the District must notify parents of staff services related to school counseling and allow parents to opt out before those services are provided to their child.

Please complete the Counseling Consent Form for opt-in or opt-out of school counseling services.

Science

Dear Gator Families,

As we approach the finish line of the 2025-2026 school year, our scientists have been working harder than ever! It has been a "Swamply Amazing" year of discovery, and we are so proud of the growth we’ve seen in every student.

Here is a look at what our young researchers are currently exploring in the lab:

6th Grade: Our students are wrapping up the year by learning about Managing Earth’s Resources. They are exploring sustainability, conservation, and how we can protect our planet for future generations.

7th Grade: We are diving deep into Water and Human Activity, examining the vital role water plays in our ecosystems and how human choices impact our water systems.

8th Grade: Our 8th graders are mastering Matter Classification and Properties, focusing on the building blocks of the physical world as they prepare for high-school-level science.

Thank you to all our Gator families for your incredible support throughout this year. It truly has been a swamp-sized success!

Go Gators!

CAR RIDER LOOP / WALKERS

For the safety of our students, please do not move our parking cones in any area that is placed to direct traffic. Our traffic signage is expected to be completed soon. Just a few reminders for safety…
1 - The front car rider loop is a “ONE WAY” at all times. Please do not exit the front parking lot, turning right. It is a “left turn” only to follow the car rider loop. Our car rider loop is a double-stacking lane in one direction at all times. “ONE WAY” signs will be posted soon!
2 - The stop sign in the curve of the car rider line was placed there on accident. You may disregard this sign and continue to proceed around the car rider loop to help continue to flow of drop-offs/pick-ups. Please be patient and kind as you merge into one lane in the car rider loop.
3 - Do not drive through cones in the parking lot. We have had to replace several cones that have been destroyed by cars running over them.
4 - In the car rider loop, please encourage your child to be ready to “unload” as soon as your car stops in front of the school (Under the awning area). This helps us move the line faster, get you through the car rider loops faster, and get kids in the building on time. We appreciate you for always “pulling all the way down” before you stop! The thumbs up, smiles, and waves are all in appreciation!!!
If your child is a walker, remind them to proceed home as soon as they are dismissed. We have too many students that are hanging out in front of the school/on campus that should be leaving the campus when they are dismissed. Students found not leaving the campus immediately will receive consequences.
